Meet Bonnie (and Clyde)

Say hello to my new pet Bonnie!

I actually have not only one but two hedgehogs - the former owner sold them as a couple so I had to get both hehe. So the pictures above are both Bonnie. The boyfriend, Clyde is a albino hedgehog and is extremely cute as well. Can you tell I'm in love?

Detroit Day3: Gm RenCen & Comerica Park

Last day in Detroit consisted of a trip to Comerica Park for Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals game and a bit of here and there around Detroit.

Though this was such a last minute trip, it was actually so much fun. Who knew I'd ever come to Detroit by driving.

Detroit Day 2: Riverwalk

I started the second day in Detroit by going right to downtown where the beautiful Renaissance building stood and the Detroit river flowed in between the boarder of America and Canada. As I only arrived into this city at twilight on the first day, I spent the night eating at Fishbones and relaxing at the hotel after buying few beers at the local convenient store (something you can't do in Ontario). I did come out at night, but I 'wussed' out as I was a little frightened.. at the night sight of Detroit….

When I did step out at night, the scenes were pretty unreal as I felt like I was watching the movie 8 Mile. Most of the cars that I saw at night were one of those super souped-up vintage cars that had DOPE trunk mounted stereos and over-sized tires. It was actually like watching a music video of some kind. You would NEVER see something like that in Toronto (yes, straight up-we're not gangster enough)

If that was my 'night scene' the day scene was very contradicting as the city was busy with business men and countless GMC Yukons and Cadillac Escalades…. And that I just assumed it was because of their huge GM RenCen…?

When I arrived at the RenCen, I grabbed a coffee from Starbucks and sat by the Detroit Riverwalk just sunbathing and looking at the scenery. Just, perfect.

Detroit Day 1

So right before the school started, my friend and I decided to go on a very impromptu trip to Detroit. This idea first began as a shopping trip to Buffalo… And then somehow changed into a Detroit, Michigan trip.

The night before we left to Detroit, I looked up few hotels in town and luckily most of the rates to the hotels / inns were really cheap as it was end of August (off-season). So we decided to stay at 'The Atheneum Suite Hotel' in Greek Town where we were given a two-room suite with one King bed.

Detroit: Fishbones

My favourite restaurant in Detroit, I'd say.
This restaurant, 'Fishbones' was directly connected with the hotel I stayed at so it was very convenient in many ways. It sucks that I don't have too many pictures of the other food that I ate as I went here about 3 times.. in the span of 3 days I stayed.

Not only their food was amazing, but their service was incredible! When I asked for 'hot sauce' my waitress didn't know what I liked so she literally brought all the types of hot sauce they had on the shelf. I laughed so hard and couldn't' resist but to give her quite a tip.
Now that I think about it, I should have taken the advantage of being in Detroit and explored other food places.. but again, this was such a spontaneous+low-budgeted trip, I really didn't have much in my mind.

Cosmic Charlie's

A little summer visit to Peterborough with Heidi!
I decided to take her out to one of my favourite Thai places in Peterborough, called Cosmic Charlie's (and honestly, Peterborough has so many good eats).

We ordered two dishes: Peanut dressing chicken satay with mango salad and chicken curry pad thai with coconut sauce. The portions may look small but it is actually super filling and so amazingly good.
Highly recommended!

Blue Jay's Game

My first ever experience at the Blue Jay's game at the Rogers Centre! - Though we lost against the Boston Red Sox, it was so much fun. The whole atmosphere; the crowd, cheers, and most importantly… the beer. Huge credits to the beer.
